**Long - but so worth reading :) **
We are pleased to announce that this famous, dynamic duo is finally ready for adoption! These two male yorkies are approximately 6/7 years old, now neutered, teeth cleaned...and they are now anxiously waiting their forever family!! Story here: "The week before Christmas I found myself at one of the San Diego animal shelters where I came across two little purebred yorkies cuddled together. It was almost hard to tell what they were because they are missing so much hair :(. I asked the staff about them and they were sad to tell me that they had a ton of problems (from the obvious hair loss to bad teeth, etc.) and no one has inquired about them. Their owner had passed away and left four dogs. Unfortunately the other two dogs had already been euthanized due to even worse conditions.
My heart sank when they told me that they would be putting this duo down too due to all these issues. To tear on my heart strings even more, the smaller one had more problems but they would both be put down because it was clear that one could not live without the other. These "brothers" or "best friends" were as bonded as can be.
I immediately called our rescue director, Susan, and told them who and what I found. We HAD to save them, we were their only hope at life.
Thanks to Holly's Garden I picked them up the day after Christmas - it was "A Christmas Miracle" says the Supervising Animal Care Attendant.
They are extremely pleasant, curious, and you can tell they are soo thankful. They are very bonded and need to find a special home together. They are spunky, fun, and still have soooo much love to give (p.s. they think they're so handsome ...and we do, too!) We have seen some progress in their hair growing back and who knows what even more love will do!?!?
